Aramco, a global leader in the energy industry, invites applications for the position of Clastic Sedimentologist and Stratigrapher to join the Northern Area and Offshore Division of the Gas Reservoir Characterization Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the characterization of gas reservoirs through detailed sedimentological studies and sequence stratigraphy.

Overview:

The Clastic Sedimentologist and Stratigrapher will play a key role in conducting detailed sedimentological studies based on core characterization, petrography, diagenesis, and integration of wireline logs. Responsibilities include establishing sequence stratigraphic and depositional environment models and maps for clastic gas reservoirs, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations to support asset evaluations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed clastic sedimentological studies and establish sequence stratigraphic and depositional environment models and maps for gas reservoirs.
• Log cores, construct integrated cross sections, interpret and map depositional facies, and build depositional models at field and regional scales.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and participate in well planning activities.
• Develop new technologies and workflows to improve reservoir characterization and work practices.
• Prepare and review reports.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Earth Science (Geology-Clastic Sedimentology, Petroleum Geology).
• Fifteen years of industry experience in clastic reservoir geology, stratigraphy, and reservoir characterization.
• Prior practical skills and experience in reading wireline logs and defining geological observations.
• Familiarity with biostratigraphy, chemo-stratigraphy, and sedimentology of siliciclastic rocks.
• Proficiency in using industry software such as Petrel, TechLog, and Decision Space.
• Ability to work effectively in team environments and mentor junior geoscience professionals.
