Overview:

The Metallurgical Engineer will be located in a central engineering group responsible for providing operational support to upstream and downstream facilities, including oil/gas wells, pipelines, gas plants, refineries, terminals, and capital programs. The role involves providing consultation, conducting metallurgical failure analyses, reviewing project design packages, introducing best practices and emerging technologies, and participating in incident investigation studies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Consult on field operations and projects of SA upstream facilities, pipelines, refineries, gas plants, and terminals.
  • Conduct metallurgical failure analyses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review project design packages and provide material selection recommendations.
  • Evaluate and introduce best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Initiate new initiatives to explore or validate materials specifications.
  • Perform materials testing, evaluation, and validation for compliance.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards and design best practices.
  • Educate young Saudi Arab engineers and promote engineering through teaching.
  • Deliver technical presentations and write papers for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in Saudi Aramco technical societies and international industry standards.
  • Carry out economic studies and cost analyses.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in materials engineering, fabrication, and failure analysis.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary, multicultural groups and independently.
  • General engineering consultancy experience focusing on failure analysis and materials selection.
  • Knowledge of refinery processes and gas plant operations.
