The role of an Oil & Chemical Industry Utility Engineer is pivotal, involving the review of utility designs, conducting technical and commercial assessments, and collaborating with various project organizations to develop comprehensive plans and strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
As an Oil & Chemical Industry Utility Engineer, your duties include:
- Conducting technical and commercial assessments for utility systems to determine potential outsourcing to third parties.
- Reviewing plans for new refinery and petrochemical projects to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Acting as a technical consultant and subject matter expert when required.
- Participating in the review and analysis of various utility-related documents and reports.
- Defining marine berths, logistics systems, and infrastructure to support project requirements.
- Collaborating on supply chain procedures, including inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
- Collecting and interpreting data to determine supply chain key performance indicators.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must have:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in civil, electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
- At least 15 years of experience in the oil and chemical industries.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of refining and petrochemical processes and associated utilities.
- Experience in prefeasibility/feasibility studies and project design phases.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in negotiating agreements.
